Christmas and Catching Up

Ok, I know that it has been a long time since I posted anything. I guess this starts my New Year resolutions, to start blogging more among many other things that I will not bore you with right now.

Christmas was great. Kendall and Emma got so many great gifts this year. I would say tht their favorites right now are the horses and Emma loves her Baby Born to Swim and Kendall loves her new comforter and decorations and pink guitar. They both love to play the guitar, Kendall is really good at making up her own songs while Emma just sings......John jacob Jingle Heimer Schmidt, His name is my name too!! I can not tell you how many times I have heard that song in one week! We missed seeing Tommy and Suzanne on Christmas but we could not get away in time to make it back to Nina's. They left the girls some really cute things and Kendall got a much needed book on manners that we will be reading every night! Thank you so much Tommy and Suzanne. Emma gave her paci to Santa on Christmas Eve, we packing them all up in a baggie and she kissed them goodbye. After a little crying she was ready for bed and has only asked about them a few times but is very proud to tell anyone that will listen that she gave her paci's to Santa and he was going to give them to a baby that did not have one! She is such a sweet baby!

In the past week we have just been cleaning and getting ready for the New Year! Todd has to work so it will be just me and the girls to ring in the New Year! I bet none of us will even make it to midnight. I sure we will have a wild night! Kendall is going to work with me tomorrow, she is so excited to go to the "city" (you know the one that is full of crime and who knows what else) and go into one of the big buildings. She has already packed a backpack to take so she has things to do. Some of the items in it include: a gumball machine (what the heck is she going to do with that), glitter, glue, sparkle paint brushes, a deer stuffed animal that she got for Christmas and some coloring books. Sounds like we are in for some fun. If you work with me and happen to be reading this I apologize in advance for what might take place tomorrow! I am just kidding, Kendall is a sweet little girl and I love her dearly!! I will let you know how it goes!

I will post the above mentioned new years resolution list after I have had a chance to think about it. Until then....here are some Christmas pictures~

This is what happens when stamps are left out in our house!!

Kendall and a friend were playing with stamps this day and decided to go outside. Emma found the open stamps and thought it would be better used as makeup!! She is a WILD girl!! The pictures of her holding her hands up is when she started saying, "Say Cheese Hands!" She thought her hands needed a little bit of encouragement to get them to smile! Silly girl!

Long, Long, Long Night!!

Sunday night Emma spent the night with Honey. When I picked her up Monday afternoon they said that she had been really good, she when to bed easy and slept all night. I noticed before we left that she had a really YUCKY cough and that her nose was a little but runny. After I picked her up we went to Toys R Us to meet April and let Emma try to find something that she would like for Christmas. We found a lot of cute things that she liked and I got some realy good ideas for Kendall too. When we left it was pouring down rain so we had to hurry to get to the bus stop to meet Kendall. They had a good night playing together until the sister fights started. They were pushing and snatching thing for each other. That went on for a good hour with some she started it and Kendall pushed me until I could not take it anymore. I finally asked Kendall if she loved Emma, and she said yes. I asked Emma if she loved Kendall and she said yes!! I asked them if they loved each other why were they fighting so much??? And I am happy to say that ended the fighting for the night. Kendall fell asleep on the couch after that but Emma was starting to cough again and just could not fall asleep. She was home when Todd got in at 10:20 and I have never been so happy to see him!! He brought Emma in our room until she fell asleep. When he came to bed I asked him if he was going to move her and he said that since she was sick he thought she should just sleep with us. What a great idea that was.....He woke me up up after about 10 minutes asking me to move her over and that she had her feet in his back, which I do not see how that was possible because her feet were in my back too! And we have a King sized bed!! So I had to go sleep with Kendall which was not much better, I woke up with her hands on my face and her knees in my back! I will be so glad to sleep in my bed tonight by myself! Emma is napping now so we will see if she is better tonight!

WISH ME LUCK!!!

Oh, by the way......they had their flu shots today too!! Something tells me tonight is going to be a long night too!

Emma's 1st Field Trip

Thursday we went to Cahaba Lilly Park with Emma's School. She had the best time with her friends and it was such a nice day! When we first got there they played for a little bit and then had a quick snack before we went on our nature walk. They each had their own bag and were supposed to find colorful leaves, acorns, pinecones and sticks (all to be used for their art projects this month). She really seemed to like that and I quickly found out that she has a boyfriend named Jacob! They were walking and holding hands, it was the cutest thing!

Friday we went over to Meme's for a little while, I promised Emma she could go if she took a nap without her paci and she did. Saturday we had a visit from the paci fairy. She brought Emma the Cariboo game, some Elmo panties, a ball and some playdough. She loved it and has done really well without it, thank God! That night we went over to the McCann's to watch the Alabama game and I think that gave everyone a mini stroke before it was over. After that we ate dinner, thanks Mac, and it was very good. Emma ate lots of cheese and potato. Kendall ate really well too. Later on that night Todd thought it would be really funny to swing Emma by her feet and bounce her upside down, she loved it and laughed and laughed!!! A few minutes later she was loving on Mac when..............Ralph!!!!! All in his lap!! Poor Mac!!! She threw up 4 times in all but has been fine ever since. I bet Todd will never do that again.

Today we are painting the girl's playroom and Kendall has gone to play with her sweet friend Alyssa! Thanks Jessica for letting her come play. I hope to have the playroom done soon so the girls will have a place to play and take their friends!

Hope everyone had a good weekend!!

Halloween/Tooth Fairy Visit

Here are some pictures from Halloween. The girls had a great time Trick or Treating with their cousins Drew and Reese. Kendall had her long awaited visit from the Tooth Fairy Halloween night. Her tooth fell out at school while she was eating some chicken. She spent the night with her Meme that night so Dele and Meme took care of the visit for me.

The next day Meme and Dele took Kendall and Drew to the Homecoming Parade at the University of Alabama and Kendall had a great time. Emma also enjoyed sleeping in Kendall's big girl bed that night and being an only child for a few hours, getting all the attention.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Halloween!!!

Countdown To Our Visit From the Tooth Fairy

Kendall has discovered that she has 4 loose teeth. This has been going on for about a month and everyday I check it she says, NOPE its not ready yet. The truth is that tooth it about to fall out of her month and needs to. I am afraid that she is going to swallow it while she it eating. I have tried to get her to let me pull it, Todd has even gotten her to let him tie a string around it but before we have a chance to pull she has taken it off. Everytime I touch it she says OUCH. I guess kids don't know that we have gone through the same thing many, many years ago, and I know that it does not hurt. She pinches her lips together and makes the funniest faces you have ever seen to keep me from getting anywhere near that tooth! Well, today starts my countdown to our visit from the tooth fairy. I thought for sure that thing would be out by Halloween! If anyone would like to place a bet on the date just let me know!

As a parent you have to be prepared for many different questions. Here is one I had to idea what to say when I was asked. All you parents of young ones be prepared. Kendall would like to know, Where does the Tooth Fairy get her money?
Well luckily were are at my Mom's when she asked so I told her to ask Honey! When she asked Honey, she said, Kendall that is a great question. Why don't you ask Pappy. (and I thought my mom knew everything) So off she goes to find Pappy. Here he comes over to her not knowing what is about to happen! She asks, Pappy where does the tooth fairy get her money? and he says, Kendall that is a great question, and I used to know the answer to that.....let me think. Well Kendall, the tooth fairy is independently wealthy, I believe that she has stock in oil! HAHAHAHA! I could hardly hide my face behind the pillow I was laughing to hard. So those of you who have children or plan to in the future, be prepared for this question. Think of a good answer now and stick to it!

I will keep you posting on the progress of the loose tooth. Hopefully it will be sooner, rather than later.

This is all new to me!

OK......I have a few friends that are really good at this blogging thing so I decided that I would just give it a try and see how it goes. So just to get everyone up to date here is the story of my life.

I have been married to Todd McCann (who by the way is the cutest thing that you have ever seen) for 6 years. We have two beautiful daughters that look exactly like their daddy and I am fine with that!! Todd is a police officer and I am working part time as an administrative assistant for my Best Friend April's mother in law ( I have worked for the company for 5 years now). Kendall is 5 years and just started school at Helena Elementary and we just found out her teacher was voted Teacher of the Year!! Kendall is in to everything. She does cheerleading, dance, horseback riding and played baseball this summer. Emma is 2 and is wild as a buck. She knows every word to her sisters cheers and wants to be a big girl so bad!

So now you know what I have been up to over the past 6 years, I will try to start posting things daily so friends and family can see what the two monkeys are up to.
